Features
> Reduces noise – the complete system negates the need for engine and gearbox blankets
> Hard wearing – harder wearing than rubber – it will probably outlast your Land Rover
> Easy to fit – no glue and is transferable
> Easy to clean – can be hosed out
> Insulation – provides insulation to keep heat out (or in)
> Inert – mat will not rot or hold water unlike felt or carpet
> Resistant – material is fuel, oil, water and sunlight resistant
> Fire retardant
> Recyclable

FAQ’s
Q. Does the acoustic mat system fit Lightweights?
A. It has been fitted to lightweights but it wasn’t designed to and it’s a tricky job. It involves a lot of cutting.

Q. What about seat box lids?
A. The seat box mat has witness marks on its under side corresponding to all the features of the seat box. It can be cut to your individual requirements using a HD craft knife.

Q. What about the trapped water?
A. Anything you put on the floor will trap water/condensation, even the new mats supplied by Land Rover. As the acoustic mat system is a hard wearing secondary surface you now have the ability to rustproof the inner surfaces of the floor. You will find that it is only a small amount of water and does dry out.

Q. What does the foam do?
A. There is closed cell foam in the area of the footwells and floor panels. It is there to take some weight out of the mat and provide more comfort under foot. The foam has very little acoustic properties.

Q. How heavy is the system?
A. Approximately 25 kilos of dense polyurethane which is the barrier to noise. This is equivalent to having a spare wheel and tire spread over the floor area. This is why it is so effective.

Q. How effective is the mat system?
A. It would be impossible to quote the reduction in decibels as each application would be different. In testing we used a SWB 2A with a NA 2.5 Freight Rover diesel engine. The owner can now have a sensible conversation at full speed!

Q. What if I want to get to the gearbox?
A. In the good old Haynes manual tradition, removal is the reversal of fitting. It takes about 5-10 minutes to remove. You shouldn’t ever need to remove the seat box mat or bulkhead mat, unless you wish to transfer them to a different vehicle.

Q. What if my mats are distorted?
A. In most cases, over time it will return to its cast shape. Try to warm it to speed this up.

Brand New to Market!

02-06 Style Dash conversion for 1983-2002 models for LHD dashboards

There are some great quality centre dash consoles for pre 2002 models on the market, although most look nice, we have always preferred the OEM look of the dashboard fitted to 02-06 Defender models.

We have had these made for our own project vehicles as a simple and cost effective solution to get the OEM look but without the hassle or price tag of using OEM parts.

If anyone has done a conversion to 02-06 spec dash you will know there is a ton of work both in the hardware and also wiring. Essentially you end up swapping every part of your dashboard just to get this look. The OEM dashboards will only take the OEM switches which means a lot of rewiring for things such as the hazard switch, rear wash wipe, rear fog light etc etc.

This kit is designed to fit the existing dashboard

However if you do wish to use the Genuine Land Rover switches you are best replacing the centre panel with the original plastic moulded type under part number MUD-0095 or FWJ000110PMA and then also buying the OEM switch holder under part number YUD000310PMA. The OEM style centre dash will attach to our main panel in this kit in the exact same way.

The Centre dash panel on this kit is better suited if you are not using the 02-06 genuine Land Rover style switches

A basic guide to fitting our kit is:
Unscrew your dash top
Remove any radio and housing if fitted
Remove the original grey dash trim that is just popped into place
Cut the raised area of your dash bottom so the new trim can sit into place
Sit this new section into place above your bottom dash
Attach to your lower dash using self tapping screws (as per original on 02-06 models) using the 4 recessed screw holes you can see on the lower section in the photo.
Where the vent lever lifts up and down, you need to open up the hole as the vent lever is wider and deeper on the pre 02 type dash than it is the 02 onwards dash. This is easily done with a rotary multi tool with a small cutting disc.
Refit the dash top again. This clamps the top in place, however originally they are also held in place to the underside of the dash top with small taper headed screws. So you can re use the same screws that held the old grey dash piece into place to secure the top of the new dash .
This is a very brief run through of fitting and there will be other minor steps required to fit.

Your conversion to Td5 Facelift is done. It is then upto yourself what switches or head unit you want to add to the new dash.
This is essentially a blank canvas and you can cut whatever holes you want to add the switches you want.
If you just want to replicate the normal features you have out the factory on 83-02 models. You just need to cut the hole for the Cigar lighter in the recess on the left of the panel, and then cut a hole for the wash wipe switch in the recess on the right side of the panel. Then if need be cut the hole for your head unit.

This kit is made from GRP and is a extremely sturdy unit and does not feel flimsy in anyway. it is actually a lot more robust than the factory plastic items.
The centre dash is screwed into place and removes just like the original

The moulding on these is extremely good with the exact same grain texture to the main section as original, so once fitted looks and feels original.

These are a very good quality kit that we are fitting to £25k plus Defenders we build as it makes the interior look so more modern and gives plenty of room to add switches for extra such as electric window and extra lights etc

The recess where the radio goes in this is approx 205mm wide x 100mm high. But you can cut it to whatever size you require.

In due course we will show a step by step guide of fitting with a full photo walkthrough of how to fit.

Please remember these are a retrofit piece of kit and although straightforward to fit for most people, you still need to have some common sense when fitting or find a professional to fit for you.

Until production is upped, we have a limited supply of these so grab them while you can as we expect these to sell fast

In due course we will show a step by step guide of fitting with a full photo walkthrough of how to fit.

The recess where the radio goes in this is approx 205mm wide x 100mm high. But you can cut it to whatever size you require.

Please rememeber these are a retrofit piece of kit and although straightforward to fit for most people, you still need to have some common sense when fitting or find a professional to fit for you.

Until production is upped, we have a limited supply of these so grab them while you can as we expect these to sell fast

FAB012860PMA
FWJ000110PMA

Boxed Dimensions – 110cmx30cmx28cm – 5kg
