Series 2 2a & 3 Galvanised Rear Door Heated Glazed (Aluminium Skin)

This door has been made by us to be as close to the original fitted doors as possible.

We know owners of Series 2 & 3 models want accurate replacement parts that look “Right” and for the last 30 years they have had to put up with cheap rear doors that fit but don’t look anything like the original parts. What makes these the best available?

The door frame where the handle bolts to is also flush to the flange on the outer skin recess. On every other Series door available, when you look through the handle recess there is a drop of about 2cm. This means water, mud and leaves get stuck there and then rust the door away. We have made our flush as original.

Of course coming from us, the frame is hot dipped galvanised and is fitted with an aluminium skin for originality. The skin is bonded to the frame which helps stop the skin and the frame rubbing each other and also helps stops rattling when you shut the door so give a much more premium feel than others.

Our door is the only Series door to have a proper 2 hinge mount. Others have the middle hinge holes in the frame but not drilled through the skin. Ours are the proper 2 hinge type, again keeping as close to original as possible.

Being galvanised these will last a very long time indeed and won’t start to rust out within just a few months like standard painted ones do.

The frame is bare galvanised finish and the skin is bare aluminium.

To prepare for paint, wash over the frame with T-Wash/Mordant solution. This etches the zinc black. Then go over the whole door, frame and skin with an etch primer. Then follow on by a high build primer. Finish off with your colour coats
